Senior Director, Research Programs, Autodesk Research
Rick specializes in accelerating innovation and focusing execution for Autodesk Research. He is an experienced high-tech product, marketing and business development professional focused on research and innovation, startup culture, new technologies, and emerging and early-market products. He currently leads Research Programs, a 40-person team accelerating Autodesk on its journey to building a world-class research organization through industry-leading innovation labs, a global network of inventors and innovators, strategic narratives and industry engagement, and persistently focused execution.
Rick’s previous leadership roles at Autodesk include developing Autodesk’s global technology centers, introducing conceptual building design and environmental analysis tools, creating and launching an early version of Autodesk’s suite of cloud and mobile applications for construction, and evangelizing building information modeling (BIM). Prior to Autodesk Rick helped software startup Revit launch their new, groundbreaking 3D building design software. An experienced, registered architect, Rick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering Science from Dartmouth College and a Master’s degree in Architecture from Harvard University.
