Technical Sales Manager, WWFO, DMG
I started my professional career as a machine operator and decided to leave my 7am to 4pm comfort zone and started to study at a technical college to get more insights and knowledge about design AND manufacturing. I finally obtained an engineering degree in design & manufacturing. I then worked as a designer, manufacturer and software developer in several positions and companies.
I am always interested to understand why things, products, etc. are the way they are. I obtained an engineering degree in design & manufacturing. I worked as a CAD designer to understand how products are developed and learned to consider standards, tolerances, costs and a lot more. Therefore, I also received the first impression of how product design can influence subsequent processes, e.g. manufacturing, production, etc.
Because of that, I became a 'prototype developer' where I designed AND manufactured complete parts with 2D-Autocad13 & Genius. The company I worked for, LEICA, implemented the 3D CAD\CAM system ProEngineer where I had the chance to move to the next skill level, working on 3D models.
After almost three years in this role I decided to work as a consultant with CAD\CAM system, and joined Rand Technology as Senior Application engineer.
Three years later in 1999, I had a chance to take the next step in my career and I joined the biggest channel part for SolidWorks products as Technical Manager for CAD\CAM.
This was my first time hiring people, training and educating them and I learned what it means to become a 'people manager'. I have been in management positions since 2013.
