SM Technical Account and External Reporting, Autodesk
Provide value to the finance community through accounting research, training and reporting. Accounting should not drive business decisions, but with in-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting, I want to support the broader finance community in finding and arriving at optimal solutions. I am remote in Chicago.
I have worked for ADSK for over 8 years managing our external financial filings (example: 10K, 10Q, 8-K/Earnings, S-3, Proxy) with IR and Legal.
Three years ago, I started the first technical accounting function at ADSK focusing primarily on accounting research in the “the gray,” as I like to call it, and help the business make informed decisions that are in-line with GAAP (and pass our auditor’s review). Note, I don’t cover revenue or tax research. Second to that, I help our finance teams keep up-to-date on ASUs and internal policies.
The research projects run the gamut from do we have bifurcation of a debt-hosted investments, should an entity be consolidated, what is the accounting impact of non-cash funding of specific projects, how does this transaction impact cash flows, what is the proper functional line-item classification on the P&L?
Prior to ADSK, I was at KPMG in the audit practice. I worked on start-ups, publicly traded companies, NFPs and private companies. I hold an active California CPA license and Masters and B.S. in Accounting (Magna cum laude).
