User experience architect , Autodesk
I am a design leader with excellent strategic and procedural management skills. I seek to humanize technology as an advocate for the value of user experience design to create more useful and usable products that put people first. I have a proven ability to manage, motivate and influence broad groups of people, which allows me to drive successful outcomes across diverse business groups.
Ian Hooper has a fine arts degree from Bishop’s University where, on the strength of his installation art pieces, he won the top prize for studio excellence. Ian continued to explore "created spaces" through his research into virtual reality and cybercafés at the University of Calgary where he earned a master’s degree in industrial design. Later at Autodesk, Ian worked on designing architectural VR software before moving to the M&E division to work on the UX of 3ds Max and the Bifrost procedural content-creation graph in Maya. He now helps to create clarity from ambiguity by communicating an overarching experience vision for Autodesk’s creative solutions.
