An industrial designer by trade, I have joined Autodesk to put my technology and industry knowledge to good use. Prior to Autodesk, I led my own multidisciplinary design firm, focused on holistic design views and specifically designing products for elderly and people with reduced mobility.

For me, design is more than just aesthetics. I am driven by empathy, that is, putting myself into other people´s shoes. This capability is something I have practiced as an industrial designer, where it is essential to understand not only the business needs, but the user needs, essentially all stakeholder´s needs.

I can see design in anything, and because of that, anything can be important to me. Most important of all, though, are areas where good design should be applied to improve quality of life, but it has not, due to circumstance. This is where design can have the biggest impact and often it is a social or environmental one.

Things that keep me going are serendipity, resilience, plasticity and presence. In my opinion, the combination of these qualities hold the key to happiness and prosperity.
